2009
A slow start to a very cold January with only one day a week on the buses and NO auditions. The only news is that I am walking about 3 miles most days to try and lose some weight! And watching lots of films at Vue, Islington.
Feb 1st - the weight seems to be coming off as I am a few notches further up my belt. Also I am meeting Tim Luscombe on 9th for a casting for HONEYMOON SUITE by Richard Bean at the New Vic, Newcastle-under-Lyme. At the end of March I meet Robin Herford for a general interview but will do my best to persuade him to cast me in THE WOMAN IN BLACK at the Fortune Theatre, Covent Garden!
Feb 6th - A recording appears on youtube of Christian Bale having a complete hissy fit on the set of TERMINATOR SALVATION as he completely coats off the hapless and timid Director of Photography, the wonderfully named Shane Hurlbut, who inadvertently wandered into the back of a shot behind Bryce Dallas Howard. What is so shocking - apart from Bale's awful mid-Atlantic accent - is his shockingly divaesque diatribe which makes him look like a complete and utter arsehole. It will be talked about for years. Especially in this post Sachsgate/Carol Thatcher era when people in the media are immediately chastised for what they say in public or "private" as I am chastising Bale(ful). Although Thatcher deserved it. Good riddance to bad rubbish!
Being cast in MERLIN means I get to work with Adrian Lester and we film just outside Paris in April!
All went well and Adrian was very pleasant to work with and I look forward to Episode Two being broadcast, I guess, in the Autumn.
BIG NEWS - Monday 18th May. I had an interview with Niki Winterson at GLOBAL ARTISTS in her office on The Haymarket and we agreed that I will be represented by her. She is very confident in my ability and I will be one of only 40 clients that she represents as opposed to one of 240 at Scott Marshall. I felt very proud to be on the list at SMP, but after 8 years and 4 months, it is now time for me to move on to pastures new. I have "High Hopes" and "Great Expectations" for the near future!
